Turtle Brooches

TB-27 $39.95/pair 3 1/2" by 1 7/8" Based on a period design from Ribe Viking Museum. A P-12 style brooch .

This style of brooch has been found in 12 different locations. This was submitted as a request from a customer!

 

TB-26 $49.95/pair 3 1/16" by 2" (7.8 cm by 5.1 cm) Based on a piece from the late Vendel or very early viking times. With a bronze cast pin and pin back arrangement just like shown in the dig.

These are a Finnish Viking piece with the round brooces from Luistari, Eura, Finland, ca 1020-1050AD These can come with the hanger for displaying your necklaces and chains or without the hangers. These round brooches are much flatter than the turtle brooches with these being as flat as possible but you still have the authentic viking look used for the apron dresses.

Closely following the design from Herastad, Scania, found with a hoard of Arabic coins. This is the largest trefoil brooch we are currently offering. They were used as dress closures on the underdresses of the apron dresses. Sometimes the necklaces were hung from the trefoil brooches as well as the turtle brooches.

TB-20, $75 Set 2 Shawl pins from the baltic. Chains depend from the loops. Each top part is about 2 7/8" and the Steel pin extends 6" below the pin.

X-93 $14.95 3 1/8" (7.7 cm) A mead strainer for hanging from your brooches or your belt. They were used symbolically in the wedding ceremony and were a symbol of being in charge of the household.
